LOCK

A contest locks at the first kickoff among the week’s Sunday games, not at the week’s first game: a Thursday or Saturday game, and the players in it, are outside the contest entirely.

Week 1 of 2026 is the worked example. The season opened on Wednesday 9 September; that game’s players were not in the Week 1 pool, and the contest locked at the first Sunday kickoff on 13 September.

The lock instant follows the schedule rather than a clock: a week with an early international game locks earlier. Each contest page states its own.

The pool is the players in the week’s Sunday and Monday games. A Monday game is played after the lock, so its players are picked before it like everyone else’s, and it never moves the lock. That has been the rule since contest 2026-W04; earlier contests held Sunday games only.

Lock for Week 9, 2026:

SETTLEMENT

Official scores come from nflverse’s weekly player statistics, applied by settlement after the slate’s last game has ended, normally within a day of it. Every settled result is stamped with the scoring version it was scored under and is only ever re-scored under that same version.

Any score shown on this site before settlement is provisional, is labelled unofficial, and never overwrites an official one.

PRIZES

There are no prizes, ever.

Nothing is won and nothing is paid to enter. That is a design decision, not a launch condition.

DATA AND ATTRIBUTION

Player identities, rosters, teams, the season schedule, weekly player statistics and the expected-points aggregate that salaries are priced from are nflverse data, read through nflreadpy: load_players, load_teams, load_rosters, load_schedules, load_player_stats and load_ff_opportunity.

nflverse publishes that data under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC-BY 4.0).

It has been modified: MAFL.ai narrows it to one week’s contest slate, derives salaries from the expected-points aggregate, and computes fantasy points from the statistics under the rules above. Salaries, scores, ranks and every decision-quality number are MAFL.ai’s own.
